TERMS OF USE — SHIM

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using SHIM (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App is operated by Song of Songs LLC.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use SHIM.

3. Description of Service

SHIM is a personal journaling and relationship insight application designed to help users record experiences and observe patterns over time.

SHIM is intended for personal, informational, and educational use only.

4. No Medical or Professional Advice

SHIM may provide insights related to mood, behavior, cycles, or patterns.

However:

  • SHIM does not provide medical advice

  • SHIM does not diagnose or treat conditions

  • SHIM does not guarantee accuracy of predictions

You should consult qualified professionals for medical, psychological, or relationship concerns.

5. User Content

All content you enter into SHIM (including notes, photos, and entries):

  • Is stored locally on your device

  • Remains your responsibility

We do not monitor, review, or moderate your content.

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of SHIM is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

In summary:

  • Your personal journal content remains on your device

  • Limited, non-personal usage data may be collected if you opt in

  • Subscription processing is handled by Apple and RevenueCat

7. Subscriptions and Payments

SHIM offers optional paid subscriptions.

  • Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Subscriptions may include a free trial period

  • After the trial, subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled

  • You may cancel at any time through your Apple or Google account settings

We do not store or access your payment information.

8. Third-Party Services

SHIM uses third-party services including:

  • Google Firebase (analytics)

  • RevenueCat (subscription management)

  • Apple (in-app purchases and device services)

  • Weather data providers

These services may process limited data as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Permissions

SHIM may request access to:

  • Camera (to add photos)

  • Photo library (to select images)

  • Location (for local weather and event context)

  • Calendar and reminders (optional features)

All permissions are optional and controlled by you.

10. Data Storage and Loss

SHIM stores most data locally on your device.

You acknowledge:

  • Deleting the app may permanently delete your data

  • We are not responsible for data loss

11. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding your personal entries), is owned by Song of Songs LLC.

You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App without permission.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • SHIM is provided “as is”

  • We make no warranties regarding accuracy or reliability

  • We are not responsible for:

    • Personal decisions made using the app

    • Relationship outcomes

    • Health or pregnancy-related outcomes

    • Data loss

    • Emotional or indirect damages

13. Indemnification

You agree to hold harmless Song of Songs LLC from any claims arising from your use of the App.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles.
